Class Mission: Create a useful and beneficial Web site for your club with a design that is appealing, attractive, easy to read, and informative for your members and the public.
Overview: A web site provides club visibility and accessibility to members and the public. The web site provides:
- Lion and Club background information
- Membership information
- Current and future club activities.
Traditionally, creating and managing a web site required an individual(s) with sufficient knowledge of web programming language to build a web site from scratch. Currently, however, some Internet companies provide easy to use templates to build and manage a web page without the need for extensive computer skill.
Another type of web site is the “Blog” (Web Journal) which makes it even easier for the layman to create and manage a presence on the Internet. For the purposes of this class, there is no difference between the term “web” or “blog.” The concept of designing a web or blog site is not so different. But the instructor will discuss web site development in terms of building a blog site.
Column 2 contains links to the presentation slides for instructing Lion Members on how to manage a web page. The Instructor's Notes on web page design can be reviewed by clicking on the link in the next Post below.
